Today, SAP is thrilled to welcome the Fieldglass team completing the acquisition announced last month.
With the acquisition of Fieldglass, SAP will deliver an end-to-end solution, providing companies around the world with the software, collaboration tools and networks needed to engage their entire workforce, permanent and temporary, as and when needed, in new and innovative ways, ensuring they have the ability to ensure they have the right people, in the right roles, in the right locations, at the right times.
Managing your total workforce has never been more critical than it is today. The new workforce is markedly different than it was 10, five, even three years ago. It’s more global and multigenerational. More connected, mobile and digitally empowered. And far more flexible than ever, addressing freelancers, long-term contractors, temporary staff sourced by agencies, even ‘crowd-sourced’ projects where people come together and disband quickly.
The contingent workforce today is a huge ($3.3 trillion USD/£1.95 trillion GBP) and fast-growing (more than 40 percent) market. In a typical business, contingent workers account for one third of the workforce, with that number expected to rise to 50 percent in coming years. The fact is, traditional ways just don’t fit anymore. Talent can no longer be managed in isolation. And until today, technology didn’t exist to fully address this problem, or the opportunity it brings. Now it can. Together, we will deliver a unique end-to-end solution for total workforce management. The new era of work is here. And we can’t wait to get started.
