My favorite element of the Olympics is the sense of brotherhood that the games impart. No matter a country’s economic status, political conflicts or type of government rule, all issues are temporarily overlooked for two weeks when the world comes together in the spirit of friendship and respect (Well, mostly – this year does mark the 20th anniversary of the Tonya Harding-Nancy Kerrigan ice skating soap opera).
The majority of IQMS customers have plant floors that resemble the Olympics. Rather than specializing in one particular process for one particular industry, our clients’ manufacturing plants offer a variety of different flavors. While 40 to 50 percent of IQMS customers specialize in producing parts for the automotive industry and 30+ percent concentrate on the medical industry, a whopping 90 percent of our customers cross multiple industry segments. It is a case of multiple manufacturing processes, or “multifacturing.”
The manufacturing industry as a whole seems to be moving toward an environment where it pays to diversify. So IQMS’ manufacturing ERP and MES software was designed to not only handle specific processes, but also to allow for multiple processes in the same facility. It caters directly to your shop floor needs and specifically addresses the challenges found in a multifacturing environment.
Sure, we can happily handle the single industry markets, but we also have many features that address a more complex environment. Are you a blow molder with a full assembly line? No problem. Do you have an extrusion machine stationed right next to your slitting work center? We’ve got you covered.
EnterpriseIQ features nearly 30 different manufacturing types (and that number is constantly growing as we expand into new industries), including:
- Injection
- Extrusion
- Thermoforming
- Blow molding
- Assembly
- Slitting
- Compounding
- Masterbatch
- Diecast
- Fabrication
- Jobshop
- Rotational molding
- Structural foam molding
- Thermoset
- RIM
- And many more
These different manufacturing types offer fields and features specific to each process. With options that allow you produce by weight, length and eaches and through continuous or batch production, EnterpriseIQ speaks your language. The software also offers the flexibility to schedule processes that are work center, assembly line, application based or a combination of many types. The system can handle multiple processes and multiple cycle times to create one unique product, or multiple products, depending on your need.
When it comes time to select a new ERP software solution, don’t settle for the cookie cutter approach. Choose an industry-specific solution that addresses your particular needs and desires. Rather than adjusting your operations to fit the software, select an ERP solution that fits you.
